Annual Renewal Fee

The annual certification renewal fee is $250 and must be received on or before the certification expiration date.

Certificants may also enroll in recurring automatic payments (autopay). To establish autopay, please contact: jmcclanahan@nationalCFFassociation.org

Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

To maintain the Certified Financial Fiduciary® designation, certificants are required to complete ten (10) hours of continuing education (CE) annually.

NACFF recognizes that many certificants already complete continuing education to maintain other professional licenses and registrations. Approved continuing education completed for insurance, securities, accounting, or similar professional licensing requirements may also be applied toward the CF2 annual CE requirement, provided the content is relevant to fiduciary responsibilities or professional financial practice.

For professions where continuing education is earned on a multi-year renewal cycle, certificants may apply completed CE hours toward the applicable CF2 renewal period.

Certificants are responsible for maintaining documentation of completed CE activities and may be asked to provide supporting records during the renewal process.

Please submit CE documentation to: jmcclanahan@nationalCFFassociation.org

Continuing education activities should relate to one or more of the following subject areas:

  • Fiduciary Regulation in the United States
  • Best Interest Standard of Care

  • Comprehensive Financial Planning

Supporting documentation may include course completion certificates, transcripts, attendance confirmations, or written summaries of professional development activities.

Failure to Renew Certification

Individuals who fail to complete renewal requirements by their certification expiration date may lose active certification status and authorization to use the Certified Financial Fiduciary® designation and certification marks.

Inactive or expired certificants may not represent themselves as Certified Financial Fiduciary® professionals and may be removed from the NACFF public directory. Digital credentials and certification badges may also be deactivated.

NACFF reserves the right to monitor public representations of certification status, including websites, social media profiles, and professional marketing materials.
