About James Cooper

Jim Cooper is a Certified Financial Fiduciary® and the founder of New Insight Financial in Winter Haven, Florida, serving retirees and pre-retirees across Polk County and New England. As a fiduciary, Jim is committed to a simple standard: his clients' interests come first, always.

Before entering financial services, Jim spent 30 years as an engineer in the defense industry, traveling the world to solve complex system problems. That training shapes how he works today — he doesn't hand clients a one-size-fits-all product. Instead, he takes the time to understand the whole picture, then works side by side with each client to build a plan together, shaped by their input and grounded in their best interest at every step.

Over the past 15 years, Jim has helped hundreds of families navigate Medicare, retirement income, long-term care, estate planning and tax-efficient strategies like Roth conversions — a subject he knows so well he wrote the book on it: The Roth Conversion Playbook: What Every Retiree Needs to Know Before Their Next Advisor Meeting, soon to be published on Amazon. He has delivered more than 100 educational retirement seminars, built on his belief that an informed client makes better decisions.

Jim's philosophy is "People First, Money Second." Everyone reaches retirement age, but no two retirements look alike — so every plan starts with your goals, your concerns, and your definition of a well-lived next chapter, then translates them into a clear, straightforward roadmap you can actually follow.

Jim graduated from Lesley University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and is licensed in Florida and New Hampshire.
