About David Pierce(Retired)

David Pierce is Assistant Professor of Insurance & CLU Program Director at The American College of Financial Services. He holds the Charles J. Zimmerman Chair in Life Insurance Education.
 
He is a 40+ year veteran of the insurance and financial services industry, progressing through the ranks from Agent and Advisor to CEO.
 
He built successful teams and winning strategies in sales, management, marketing, communication, and leadership throughout the United States, Southeast Asia, India, and New Zealand.
 
David created the original “Life Insurance Awareness Week” sales campaign. All rights were granted to LIFE HAPPENS and the concept is now recognized as the life insurance industry’s annual “Life Insurance Awareness Month”.
 
He also led the team that created and launched "The AIA Financial Health Check" in 2005, Southeast Asia’s first-ever Needs Based Selling system, still in use today.
 
His book Five Pillars of a Tremendous Life was first published in 2009 and was selected by Amway International as a Book of the Month.
 
David holds a BA degree from American University, a Master of Science in Financial Services and a Master of Science in Management from The American College of Financial Services, and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Minnesota.
 
He earned the AEP designation from the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, the CLU, ChFC and CLF designations from The American College, and the Certified Financial Fiduciary designation from the National Association of Certified Financial Fiduciaries.
 
David taught at Middle Tennessee State University as Adjunct Professor of Business and Economics, and at Western Kentucky University as Adjunct Professor of Business and Professional Communication.
